HITMAN – Series Intro
– Video Game Tourist
This is part of my “Video Game Tourist” series – where I provide an intro to a video game or series and then play the first level or two – or the 2nd or 3rd part of a series – or whatever – and we’ll see if we want to continue streaming the game or the series.
The idea here is that – as a tourist – we are arriving on an airplane & flying over @ 10K feet to get the BIG PICTURE overview.
Obviously, I’ve seen marketing for the game & it peaked my interest, so I added it to my shopping list & ultimately bought the game.
I typically buy games on sale because I have plenty of other games in my backlog, but today we are looking at this one!
In some cases, I’m already familiar with the game or the series & in other cases, I am just learning about the game right along with you – live as I play.
So – this series is called HITMAN & you are “that guy”… the HITMAN.

The long & short of the series is that you are assigned to kill people by your “handler”.
Now – as a quick aside – there was also a movie based on the game series that introduces you as an orphan child who was recruited into an “organization” that trained kids to be killers – but IDK if the games really follow that storyline religiously – however, as a fan of the games, I thought the movie was worth watching – I just don’t know if that mythos is part of this trilogy that we are about to jump into.
Right now – let’s discuss the HITMAN – niche or genre…
HITMAN it is simply a 3rd person perspective game of stealth assassination with – reeeeee-markable – environments.
My 1st game in this series was HITMAN Absolution, which was released in 2012 & was the 5th game in the 8 game PC series (I think).
After playing HITMAN Absolution, I added every game to my wishlist & own all of them now 0 except HITMAN 3 (waiting for that to hit my budget).
I bought HITMAN Absolution in 2013 for $5 on Amazon Digital and added the games cdKEY to STEAM account. Steam reports that I completed the game in 14.4 hours – so that was a great value for $5 & better than any TV series binge I could get for $5! The 2nd game in this series that I played was just called HITMAN – released in 2016 – and is part of the World of Assassination trilogy. I got that game FREE on EPIC games & OMG, it was magnificent! I played the main missions & all kinds of side missions & was in there for 19 hours. It was worth every penny ; ) HowLongToBeat.com ~ HITMAN
The game was JAW droopingly beautiful & loaded beyond belief with AI NPC’s. I played that game on at 1920×1080 on my – Intel i7-4790k CPU & AMD R9-380 GPU.
I don’t remember my specific settings (might have only been medium or high) but I was able to run smoothly & my eyeballs were dripping from the immersion, so if you want to grab this game!
It is frequently on sale & I suggest buying @ CDkeys.com – or – isthereanydeal.com but make sure to check if your PC can run it first by going to “CanIrunIt.com”.
